As BC marks ten years since the toxic drug crisis was declared a public health emergency, a member of the Northern Peer Advisory and Consultation Committee, Billy, reflects on what this moment means for him and the communities he cares deeply about.
“When I think about the last ten years, I think about our youth,” Billy said. “They don’t get to experience being teenagers the way we did. There’s no room for experimentation anymore. Our young people should be learning from their mistakes, not dying from them.”
