The Houston Health Centre offers a variety of services to the community that include urgent care, outpatient and long term care services in one convenient location.
Common areas include a home like kitchen, lovely solarium and outside walking loop, laundry and on-site food preparation.

The long term care staff follows the Eden Philosophy that promotes independence, choice, respect and a loving, caring environment when caring for our elders.
Northern Health is accredited until 2018. Accreditation is an external peer review process to assess and improve the services healthcare organizations provide their patients and clients based on standards of excellence set by Accreditation Canada.
- 6 publicly subsidized beds
- 4 permanent complex care
- 2 short stay beds that will include palliative, respite and convalescent care.
Residents pay 80% of their after tax income, with minimum and maximum rates set by the Ministry of Health Services. The monthly rate covers the cost of food and accommodation.
Basic furniture provided includes a bed, night table, dresser and chair.
Numerous on-site recreational activities are provided with volunteers assisting to provide variety.
Maybe limited due to size of facility.
NH has a pet visitation policy; pet visitations provided. No personal pets, but there is a resident cat at this time.
All Northern Health facilities are smoke free. Residents are asked to smoke outside the facility in designated areas.
All entries and exits are secured to provide a safe environment.
Ample visitor parking available.
The solarium, backing onto Jamie Baxter Park, offers lovely mountain views.
