What is accreditation?
Northern Health participates in a continuous accreditation process to embed quality improvement and patient safety in daily care. Our teams conduct self-assessments to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, and each year, expert national surveyors conduct an external assessment to validate the quality of safety and care provided to those in our care. We work with Accreditation Canada, an independent outside organization, to ensure we meet national standards. The accreditation process helps build trust and assures our commitment to quality improvement and safe patient care in our ongoing strategic planning and operations.
