Toxic drug alert: Terrace

There has been an increase in overdose events in the community of Terrace. The reported substance is a purple powder/pebbles substance, sold as down. The substance is highly toxic and contains benzodiazepines and high levels of fentanyl.

Preparing for summer weather

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued special weather statements for several parts of the province. Current forecasts for much of the north call for daytime highs rising into the low to mid 30's with overnight lows down to the mid-teens. This is not a heat warning or an extreme heat emergency, but we will experience the first high temperatures of the summer.

There has been an increase in overdose events in the community of Prince George. The reported substance is being sold as down, is light pink or dark/bright neon pink in colour.

There has been an increase in overdose events in the community of Quesnel. The reported substance is being sold as down, is deep burgundy (red) in colour, chunky, and dense.

This substance is highly toxic and causes sudden overdose including prolonged sedation and memory loss. Overdoses are happening when the substance is smoked and injected.
