Toxic drug alert: Prince George
There has been an increase in overdoses in Prince George linked to a red colored drug sold as “down.” Drug checking services found high levels of fentanyl (15-20%) and bromazolam (10-15%) a benzodiazepine.

Northern Health patients to benefit from sustained surgical capacity
People in Prince George and surrounding communities will benefit from continuing access to the services they need as Northern Health has acquired the lease and equipment at the Prince George Surgery Centre and assumed operation of the centre on Monday, April 17, 2023.
This was done in partnership with the Province.
New emergency department, ICU open at GR Baker Memorial Hospital
People in the North Cariboo will have better access to health care at GR Baker Memorial Hospital as construction completes on a new emergency department and intensive care unit (ICU).
The new addition was built on the territory of the Lhtako Dene Nation and will open on April 14, 2023. The provincial government invested $27 million in the project through Northern Health and the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District.
