Developmental Disabilities Mental Health (DDMH)

The DDMH program provides assessment, consultation, and short term treatment services to individuals 14 or older who meet the diagnostic criteria for a developmental disability (IQ of 70 or below) and who have a mental illness and/or challenging behaviours.


  • A team of two provide services in the Northern Interior and provides consultation for contracted services
  • North West and North East services are provided through contracted agencies
  • Age group: 14+
  • Referral through Community Response Unit, physicians, and community agencies
  • Program mandate is to provide consultation, assessment and recommendations
  • Program does not provide case management
  • Psychology services (service contract)
  • Limited psychiatry services for youth assessments (via sessions)
