Aboriginal Health Resources1. Aboriginal Health Initiative Program (AHIP) Evaluation ReportThe Aboriginal Health Initiative Program (AHIP) was formally evaluated, and the evaluation report is now available. There are five separate and complementary sections to this evaluation. The first, “Historical Context”, presents a brief overview of past factors without which the present realities cannot be fully understood or appreciated. The second, “Key Concepts”, offers a glossary of terms and their definitions that collectively orient the reader to the values and worldview implicit in the document. The third, “Health Determinants”, grounds the evaluation in an explication of the parameters that must be considered in determining the health of individuals, families and communities. The fourth, “Evaluation”, which includes methodology, describes the evaluation process, strengths and weaknesses demonstrated in the action planning proposed and carried out in the projects, and observations and suggestions that can serve as building blocks for the future. The fifth, “Recommendations” represents the findings and conclusions drawn in this study of the AHP funded projects from 2003 to 2006. The Northern Health Map also features the three Health Service Delivery Areas: Northern Interior (NI), Northeast (NE), and the Northwest (NW).
