Many leisure activities involve wheels of some sort whether they are on bikes, skateboards, scooters or inline skates!
To raise awareness around the number of kids who suffer a serious head injury or death from wheeled activities, the theme for Safe Kids Week 2010 is Got Wheels? Get a Helmet!
In the past 10 years in BC, 17 children under the age of 19 have died from fatal head injuries as a result of biking, inline skating or skateboarding.
Wearing the appropriate, well-fitted helmet can decrease the risk of a serious head injury by 85%! See below for more tips on how to bike, ride or skate safe.
