Pedestrian Safety

Every year in Canada, an average of 30 child pedestrians under the age of 14 are killed and another 2400 are injured!

In BC, although seniors account for only 13% of the population, 40% of all pedestrian fatalities occur in this age group.

A pedestrian hit by a vehicle traveling 50 km/hr is 8 times more likely to be killed than if they are hit by a vehicle traveling 30 km/hr.
