Post-secondary educational institutions and programs

Northern Health works closely with colleges and universities in Northern British Columbia in the education of new health professionals. Some of the links are provided below:

• University of Northern British Columbia - One of Canada's newest universities, based in Prince George with programs and services offered across Northern British Columbia... including health sciences programs.
• UNBC Northern Medical Program - a joint effort between UNBC and the University of British Columbia to assist in training new physicians in Northern British Columbia.
• College of New Caledonia - a Prince George-based institution with satellite campuses throughout the Northern Interior.
• Northwest Community College - a Northwest BC college, headquartered in Terrace.
• Northern Lights College - a Northeast BC college, headquartered in Dawson Creek.
• Sprott Shaw Community College - Prince George

Outside of Northern BC

British Columbia Institute of Technology: Public Health/Environmental Health-  BCIT provides education for public health inspectors and environmental health officers. These personnel help in health promotion and disease provention through education, consultations, inspections, implementing the terms of health legislation. BCIT also offers a number of training programs for allied health professionals.
