How do I find out about the new Northern Health travel program?
Northern Health's NH Connections medical travel service program provides low-cost travel options for people who have to leave their home communities for specialized health services.
How can I find out about regulations for installing sewerage systems?
New regulations covering the installation of sewarage systems came into effect in May of 2005. To find out more, visit our Public Health Protection Sewage Disposal page.
How can I get information to stop smoking?
Northern Health has developed its Nicotine Intervention Counselling Centre (NICC) program to give smokers advice and support as they quit. We've built this program based on another highly-successful program from the Mayo Clinic.

How can I find a physician in a Northern BC community?
Most physicians in Northern BC aren't employees of Northern Health. They run their own offices independently of Northern Health, and bill the British Columbia Medical Services Plan for their services. Physicians receive privileges to practice in Northern BC hospitals through Northern Health.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia has a directory of physicians in communities across Northern BC, including those accepting patients.
